Have you noticed that a lot of students here at Mountain Lakes High School are wearing pants? This is one of the most innovative and popular male fashion trends that is rapidly and drastically changing the course of history for the better.

First, let’s talk about some other trends that have been gradually growing at the high school. One of them is shoes. Look around and everyone is wearing them these days. One of the reasons why this fashion statement is so popular is because it is mandatory to wear them to school. Similarly, shirts are a very popular trend among males at MLHS, mainly due to the fact that attending school without wearing one is likely to result in suspension.

And, of course, like I stated before, pants are one of the biggest fashion trends of the school year, and they are, without a doubt, my pick for the #1 male fashion trend at MLHS. You may not know this, but students at MLHS originally started wearing pants as a way of honoring the nostalgic fashion of a time period in which they never existed: The 1970s.

After The Beatles started wearing pants in public, these risky and revolutionary leg coverings were popularized as a male fashion statement throughout the ‘70s, mainly because of the music icons that wore them. Mick Jagger, Michael Jackson, Eric Clapton, David Bowie, Jim Morrison, Stevie Wonder, and many, many more famous musicians wore pants to all of their concerts, making pants the most memorable aspect of the ‘70s. Now, students are wearing pants as a way to honor and remember them, and this trend isn’t going anywhere, so go get yourself a pair of pants.
