As the 2022 year comes to an end, a lot has happened and we should take a second to look back and appreciate some of the events from this year as this year has been so slow and fast at the same time. 


Stranger Things Season 4

To begin this tour of nostalgia, let’s not forget the newest season of the sensational TV show Stranger Things. Since 2016, the Netflix show has been launching every 2 years with a new season! This past season leads into our last which every fan is dreading and excited for. 

Will Smith’s Oscars Meltdown

Do you remember this?! Right before Will Smith went to receive his Academy Award for Best Actor for his performance in King Richard, he slapped the show host Chris Rock for his joke about Smith’s wife. This was later named the “slap heard ‘round the world” and earned Smith a 10-year ban from the Oscars. 

Depp v. Heard Trials

In one of the most highly discussed trials of the decade, Amber Heard and Johnny Depp went to court after Depp sued Heard for defamation after she accused him of abusing her in their past relationship. Around-the-clock coverage and constant Tik-Tok exposure allowed for the case to grow in popularity. 

The Loss of Queen Elizabeth

After a reign of 70 years and 214 days, holding the record for the longest reign of any British monarch, Queen Elizabeth passed on September 8th.

Elon Musk Purchases Twitter

In April, Elon Musk announced his plans to purchase Twitter and many were skeptical that this purchase would ever occur. In October, Elon Musk closed the deal with a buying amount of $44 billion. Elon Musk got into a lot of struggles with current users of the app when he stated his plans to make the verification blue check mark cost $20 a month. What are your thoughts on this?

Wordle Craze

Earlier this year, this game was the talk of the town. Every person was doing the Wordle and competing with their friends over who got it faster. The New York Times game was arguably the most buzzed mobile game of the year.

Argentina Wins!

An exciting duel between Messi and Mbappe that went to penalties, with heart-dropping moments from whistle to whistle. In the end, Messi would emerge victorious as Argentina won vs France (3-3) with Argentina 4-2 on penalties. Messi can be satisfied with the completion of his trophy room with the highly sought-after World Cup trophy.
