Read Time:2 Minute, 9 Second

Versace said that “you decide what you are, what you want to express by the way you dress and the way you live.” I know I said so in my last article too. It’s not that you shouldn’t wear trends, but wearing them with a personal touch is what makes style unique. Trends often reflect what is going on around us, which is why many individuals end up seeking items with a similar vibe and contributing to a new trend at a specific time. Since it’s time for warm weather, Fashion Week, and going out without a mask, after such a long time of dressing up only to go nowhere, it’s now time to go everywhere fashionably.

Cargo and Utility Wear

I’m not talking about Dickies. The Dickies 874 pants and the rolled-down waistlines have been everywhere. Streetwear has turned to baggy cargo pants, often accessorized with extra pockets, straps, and metallic embellishments to create a more unique and extra look. Since it’s spring, a new demand for utility skirts has appeared as well, adding a feminine touch to the style.

Suits

Suits have been around for a while. I mean, the Queen has been rocking them since forever. But the new upheaval of suits consists of loud and bright colors, in contrast to the dark neutrals that were popular last year, as the rebellious look of subversive basics has made its appearance. Now, the boldness of the 80s are coming back as individuals strive for a power suit look that reflects their new wardrobe in the new season.

Crochet

Crochet items have been around since quarantine, when people picked up new hobbies. With spring and summer rolling around, bright colors and floral patterns have been making their way around into new spring collections. Dresses, skirts, coverups, and accessories made by individuals sold on sites like Depop, Poshmark, and Etsy reflect the return of respect for artisans and personally made items.

Sheer

Sheer tops and dresses have made an appearance in NYFW, along with body positivity and subversive wear. Sheer items are about clothing pieces that rebel up to the point of losing their utility. Easy to mix and match and layer, this transparent fabric is appearing everywhere for individuals to show off what they’ve got.

Gloves

Like suits, gloves make an outfit more elegant and more formal. Statement gloves have made appearances in the latest fashion shows. Consisting of different materials, sheer, mesh, lace, leather, and vibrant colors, they are THE accessory to spice up a simple outfit.
