Hello, I’m here today to tell you about a couple of the weird flavors of Oreo cookies you can find in your local foodstore! In brief, I will be talking about the following flavors: thin mint, lemon, peanut butter, birthday cake, and cinnamon bun. I will also mention the regular Oreo and Double Stuf Oreos; however, I will not be trying those ones because I already know what they taste like.

To start off, I sampled thin mint Oreos. They tasted a lot like Girl Scout Thin Mint cookies if you have ever tried those. If you haven’t tried those, then I don’t really know what to say to you except that girl scouts start selling cookies in February and you should find where your town’s troop camps out (usually near a Walmart or other chain store) and buy some. I like the girl scout version better. Stay away from these.

The second cookie I tried was the peanut butter Oreo. In my opinion, these ones taste like a regular Oreo with some peanut butter inside. If, after you read this, you want to try a peanut butter Oreo, just take a regular Oreo from your cookie jar and take some Skippy peanut butter and put it on the Oreo and eat it. It tastes the same and you don’t waste $4.49. Overall, though, I would recommend these to anyone. NOTICE: If you are allergic to peanut butter please have nine one one on speed dial, or don’t eat them at all. You choose, you daredevil! Just don’t blame me.

Birthday Cake was next on my list, and I’m still disgusted. I had to throw out half of it. IT DOES NOT TASTE LIKE THE CAKE! Please do not try this cookie. If you want birthday cake, wait until your mother’s birthday or pretend it’s your birthday and go to Denville Dairy and buy an actual cake. Thanks.

The fourth cookie I tried was Cinnamon Bun. I don’t want to be biased in this article, but I went into this one with a bad feeling because I am not a huge fan of Cinnamon buns. In terms of Mall Food, I would much rather eat an Auntie Anne’s Pretzel. However, this cookie came out being one of my favorites. I would totally recommend this to some of my family and peers.

The last cookie I tried was lemon flavored. I usually do not really enjoy lemons unless it is the summer and I am down the shore with a glass of water and a lemon is on the side, in which case I will take the lemon off the glass and throw it into the bushes. Anyhow, I still decided to try the lemon oreo. It was a mix of flavors. To give you a mental picture it was a vanilla oreo with lemon as the creme filling (obvious unless you didn’t just read the five sentences above). I would personally save this flavor for the spring time, but if you are dying to taste it, take a regular oreo and squeeze some lemon on top. I bet it tastes the same as an actual lemon oreo cookie.

Lastly, I did promise that I would talk about Double Stuf and regular Oreos. I did spell Double Stuf right, by the way; Oreo just decided not to use spell check before publishing their Double Stuf name, I guess. I would usually just say that an Oreo tastes like any other cookie, but it doesn’t. It tastes like a mix of sugar, unbleached enriched flour (wheat flour, niacin, reduced iron, thiamine mononitrate (vitamin b1), riboflavin (vitamin b2), folic acid), high oleic canola and/or palm oil, cocoa (processed with alkali), high fructose corn syrup, cornstarch, leavening (baking soda and/or calcium phosphate), salt, soy lecithin, vanillin (an artificial flavor); the chocolate  contains wheat and soy. Oreos taste like a mix between those things because those are the actual ingredients. “Double Stuf” Oreos taste the exact same as regular Oreos taste, just with extra stuffing.

This short additional summary goes out to anyone who is allergic to gluten but still wants to eat Oreo-esque cookies. The best gluten free “Oreo” cookies are from Trader Joe’s, they’re called Joe-Joe’s, the best flavor of said Joe-Joe’s is peppermint, and the closest Trader Joe’s is in Florham Park, NJ.

Thank you so much for reading this review. I hope you do not have to go through trying all these Oreos unless you want to, and I also want to give a shoutout to my mom for buying five boxes of Oreos for this review!!! Thanks Sue!
