Hey there, Lakers! A few weeks before winter break, Mr. Mangili reached out to The Mountaineer and asked if we could help him put together a surprise for the students: messages from your teachers and the MLHS faculty.

But… what the staff didn’t know is that the students ALSO wrote messages to the faculty!

TO THE STUDENTS:

Here’s a video compilation of messages from the staff of MLHS, and below there are some written messages to enjoy before you venture off into winter break!

Here are the written messages from the staff to the students of MLHS:

From Mrs. Betsy Sullivan: “With the year we have had, my wish for all of you is even more heartfelt than ever!!! May these Holidays bring you and your families much happiness and love!! May we all continue to be safe and healthy in the New Year! Love, Mrs Sullivan”

From Ms. Caroline Nicholson: “Happy Holidays!! Hope everyone has a nice and relaxing break – free of working on any college applications!”

From Mr. Sidhu: “Happy holidays everyone! Hope you enjoy a new year full of health, happiness and post-pandemic togetherness!”

From Ms. Pia Garate-Gomez: “Joyeuses Fêtes, Felices Fiestas y Happy Holidays to all our students, families and staff. Wishing you a season and New Year filled with joy, good health and peace.”

From Ms. Banks: “Happy holidays! With all good wishes to you and your family for health and happiness throughout the coming year! Have a great holiday with your family!”

“Hey Mr. Ziccardi!! Thank you for being the highlight of my day, and making the course I dreaded the most coming into this year the most enjoyable of them all. You might not be as good as Bensonhurst teachers, but you are still hilarious and an amazing teacher.”

I can never imagine the difficulties with juggling virtual teaching and everything else; a break is well deserved!
