The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade

Many would agree that the climax of the Thanksgiving holiday is the feast. However, the celebration begins early in the morning on the streets of New York City. The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade features hundreds of festive balloons, floats, and musical performances. Thousands of spectators line the parade route, bundled up against the bitter cold. Millions more watch the event from the comfort of their homes. Several floats will feature celebrity performers- such as Idina Menzel and Lea Michelle- and five new balloons will make their debut: Astronaut Snoopy, Green Eggs and Ham, Love Flies Up to the Sky, Smokey Bear, and Spongebob Squarepants.
