Introduction

Everyone, hop aboard the Battle Bus as Epic has just opened the Pandora’s Box that is Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2! With all the new weapons, drop spots, bosses, and battle passes fans are beyond excited for this upcoming season. In this article, we will cover everything from medallions, to mythics!

New Map

This season is coming in hot with four greek mythology inspired locations: The Underworld, Grim Gate, Mount Olympus, and Brawlers Battle Ground! Some of the returning locations include Lavish Lair, Pleasant Plaza, Snooty Steeps, and the no longer ruined, Restored Reels. Running along Grim Gate and the Underworld, players will find a green glowing river on the map. This water gives players the ability to dash up to three times by double jumping. In addition to this River of Styx, a total of 9 new bunkers can be found filled with Epic Chests, Mod benches, gold stacks, leaving you and your duo with some (Greek) godly loot.

New Bosses + New Medallions

With four new locations, comes four new medallions, bosses, and mythics. These bosses are summoned by interacting with their statues at their respective locations. Just like the OG medallions from last season, once attained a yellow circle will appear on the map, revealing yourself to potential enemies.

  • Hades: Hades, the God of the Underworld can be found, well, in the Underworld! Once killed, he will drop his mythic, the Hades’ Harbinger SMG, and a medallion. His medallion is known as the aspect of Siphon, which will heal you after eliminations.
  • Cerberus: This three-headed doggie can be found at Grim Gate, where you will be greeted by multiple of his wolf servants that you’ll need to kill off before Cerberus spawns. After defeating Cerberus, he will drop his mythic Gatekeeper Shotgun and his medallion, known as the aspect of speed. This medallion will allow you to recharge your dashes over time without having to dip into those green goopy waters.
  • Zeus: The King of Gods himself, Ruler of the Sky, it’s Zeus! Easily the toughest boss to face, Zeus can be found on his throne at Mount Olympus, waiting to lightning bolt anyone who comes his way. If you are ever so lucky to avoid the wrath of his lightning and defeat Zeus, he will drop his mythic DMR. Along with his DMR, you’ll also get his medallion which is known as the aspect of speed. This allows players to run faster and jump higher while sprinting.
  • Ares: Ares, God of Warfare, can be found in Brawler’s Battle Ground. Expect nothing less from the Lord of War himself, as Ares puts up quite the fight. If killed, Ares will drop a mythic AR and a medallion known as the aspect of combat. This allows your ranged weapons to get a slight increase in damage.

New Weapons/Inventory Items

It’s impossible to discuss new weapons without discussing Zeus’s lightning bolt, which is arguably the most overpowered weapon this season.

  • Thunderbolt of Zeus: Did someone call for an absolutely overpowered and insane mythic? Look no further than the Thunderbolt of Zeus! Not only can this weapon go through builds, it deals a total of over 200 damage when used efficiently. One downside players have found to this weapon is that when used in combat, it can be quite slow, making you an easier target for opponents. However, when combined with the ability to dash this problem can be easily combated as you can just dash around your enemies whilst using this weapon.

This season, we also see the return of the Drum Gun, DMRs, and the newly added Chains of Hades.

New Skins/Shop Items

  • Battle pass: This season’s battle pass welcomes 8 new greek mythology themed skins to fortnite. Some of our favorites include Aphrodite (goddess of love), Artemis (goddess of the moon and hunt), Poseidon (god of the ocean), and Medusa. With the addition of endless emotes, wraps, and pickaxes, we’d say this season’s pass is definitely worth the v-bucks!
