Read Time:3 Minute, 36 Second

As this hectic year draws to a close, we editors of The Mountaineer would like to thank our teachers for all of their dedication and support. We decided that May, Teacher Appreciation Month, is the perfect time to reflect back on our school year.

Teachers line up at the Teacher Appreciation Luncheon buffet table, served by the Home & School Association.

From Sam Rafferty: Shoutout Ms. P. She makes history fun and her daily do now questions are always a good way to start class.

From Eric Lee: To all the teachers in MLHS who care so much about the well-being and success of its students: Thank you so much for your continued dedication to us throughout the school year. This year has definitely been extraordinarily challenging for everyone, and in some ways, it feels that part of our high school experience has been stripped from us. We appreciate your collective reminder to us that, at least, you’re still here. 🙂

From Alia McLaughlin: Hi Teachers!! I want to say a huge thank you to all of you guys for working endlessly and relentlessly to make our school year the best it can be- you are almost at the home stretch!! You got this, we are all rooting for you!!!

From Margaret Berei: Mr Feltmann – I wasn’t too excited at first to come back to in-person school, but having gym first period in the morning, playing wiffle ball, has honestly been a highlight of my time back in the building. Mrs Cortese – Your kindness and happiness is infectious. Thank you for always keeping a positive attitude despite the hardships of this year. Your positivity has helped me get through school this year. Mr Ziccardi – Thank you for always making class so interesting and helping me realize my passion for history. Your class is always the highlight of my day! Dr Hittinger – Everyone really appreciates how much time and effort you put into helping your students fully understand the material. Your class really prepares us well for life beyond high school. Mrs Urriola – You are always so supportive and it brings a smile to my face every time I step foot into your classroom. Thank you so much for all you do! Mr Hoffman – You are excellent at weaving together current events, history, and exciting activities. I never knew history could be so relevant and interesting! Thank you for putting in so much effort to create for us cool assignments and projects. Señora Rodriguez – Thank you so much for making learning another language interesting and fun! I can tell that my Spanish has improved so much from your class, despite the virtual environment. You’re the best! Mrs Krause – Math is one of my toughest subjects but being in your class makes it so much easier to understand and much more enjoyable. I really appreciate how you are always there to support and uplift your students; it makes a huge difference!

From Rebecca Hirschfeld: Thank you for everything that you do! We understand that it has not been easy to teach during the pandemic, and we recognize all of your hard work!

From Conrad Lewis: Thank you for managing to make do with the nightmare that is hybrid learning. You make the world go ‘round.

From Elizabeth Hirschfeld: To the faculty of MLHS, thank you for all of your hard work. This year has not been easy, and you’ve been there for your students from beginning to end. Thanks for keeping us on track and for telling your funny stories. We appreciate you and all that you do.

From Janaki Mehta: Ms. Seibert — A queen! Mr. Hoffman — Inspires me to be a better person and student. Mr. Ziccardi — A legend and God of the Woodlands incarnate. Mme. Bessin — Such a help in French and her class is so much fun! Ms. Gillespie — Genuinely the nicest person I know. Mr. Sica — Your class is so engaging and fun. Mr. Terzis — Your class has been the highlight of my day for the entire year, and I will look back fondly on it when I graduate. It pushed me to further my intellectual insights whilst also indulging my curiosity. I love hearing the stories about your crazy life (I still believe that you should write a memoir). Thank you so much for your guidance:)
